![]() Some people may scoff at hit but I will say this. It is the Mixtrack Pro and it has everything that is needed for the newbie DJ to get up and running. ![]() I have heard a lot about this controller from Numark. It does not affect all notebooks because my Lenovo Thinkpad works fine but this Dell… Once the soundcard was disabled, I plugged in my controller and I was good to go. It had nothing to do with VirtualDJ but instead, had something to do with the crappy IDT soundcard on my Dell Inspiron N5050. I need to say here that I have fixed the problem. Someone had better do something about this and soon! I believe there must be some other DJs with the same issue because I read quite a few complaints, similar to mine, in the Virtual DJ forums. I have been putting off the Traktor conversion because I was very happy with Virtual DJ but they seriously need to solve this issue, with Hercules too. Now guys, where is the 64-bt version of the software? The forums on Virtual DJ say that I need to load the 64-bit version of the software. The funny thing is, I have another notebook running 32-bit Windows 7 and it works fine! What is this with Virtual DJ and Hercules (The brand of my controller) saying that Virtual DJ is compatible with 64-bit Windows 7 when it is clearly not? I must have uninstalled it about 10 times and re-installed, added driver updates and all but to no avail. Luckily it was a bar job and not much mixing was needed but it left me bloody furious. For those of you wondering, was my controller plugged in? Yes, it most certainly was! My controller could not even play the MP3s! So yesterday, I had to do a gig just using Winamp. Yesterday, I tried to load my copy of Virtual DJ 6 LE and I kept getting this error message when I tried to launch Virtual DJ. Maybe next time but for the time being, I am quite happy with my Hercules DJ controller. The one I was using was hooked up to a Mac Mini but the website claims that it works fine on Windows XP, Vista and 7. While I am all for simplicity, I suppose there are others who will appreciate what this controller is capable of doing. The controller, by itself, obviously has more buttons and controls on it than my Hercules which means better and greater functionality and options for the more discerning DJ. The specifications are available on the Traktor website here. It does take some getting used to, and it is totally different to the Virtual DJ software that I am so used to using. Quality like this does come at a price and I am pretty sure that it ain’t cheap! But I must say that Traktor software is incredible. That being said, it is pretty heavy and twice the size of my tiny Hercules controller. All I can say about it is that it is very well-built and the sound quality is awesome. I had the chance to play with this Native Instruments Traktor controller the other day. Go and get one for your DJ controller USB cable now! It just might save your ass. The last thing you need is a song skipping in the ,middle of the set. So in a nutshell, it prevents interference in the cable from RFI. Only in extreme cases will the heat be noticeable. The energy is either reflected back up the cable, or absorbed resistively within the ferrite core and dissipated as low-level heat. The geometry and electromagnetic properties of coiled wire over the ferrite bead result in a high resistive impedance (resistance) for high-frequency signals, attenuating high frequency EMI/RFI electronic noise. So I went down to the local hardware cum electronics store and bought myself one.įerrite beads are used (in a way similar to inductors) as a passive low-pass filter. However, I began to think…what happens if the supplied cable screws up? So after digging around my spare parts box, I came across another USB cable except that cable did not come with a ferrite collar like the supplied USB cable. When I bought that Hercules controller, I was supplied with the afore-mentioned USB cable and all was well. I use a special USB cable for my Hercules DJ controller to my IBM 圆1 notebook.
